Summary
A wall painting was made in the wall painting workshop ORKU in order to present the materials and the technology, which is crucial for understanding the changes that occurred over time, as well as for choosing appropriate conservation and restoration materials and methods. Practical application of technological instructions from literature made it possible to analyse the characteristics of different kinds of lime mortar when applied in different ways. Several drawing copying techniques were applied, as well as several fresco and secco techniques. Two months after the wall painting had been made, the hardness of used mortars and the resistance of the painted layer to rubbing were tested by empyrical methods. A poster was made to present the process of making the wall painting, with the materials used and knowledge gained.
